Key Specifications
How Well Is It Built?
Built with a thick, waterproof, and UV-resistant material that customers praise for its quality . While the included carry bag and pegs are also of good quality, the supplied extendable poles are a significant weak point, with reports of them sliding down during use .
When you get your hands on this canopy, the first thing you'll likely notice is the material quality, which gets a lot of positive comments from buyers.
Canopy Fabric
The fabric is described as a 'good thick material' by one reviewer who had to return the item due to faulty poles . Others confirm it's of 'good quality and resistant' . This robust construction means it performs well, with one 5-star review mentioning it 'stood up to strong gales and torrential downpour' , which is impressive for a simple sun canopy.Poles, Pegs & Bag
This is where the design falls short. A consistent theme across reviews, from 1-star to 5-star, is the inadequacy of the poles. One user returned the item because the 'extendable poles kept sliding back down' . Furthermore, almost every reviewer states that it needs a third, central pole to prevent the canopy from sagging and collecting water , , . On the plus side, the same critical reviewer did note that the 'pegs and carry bag were all of good quality' , so it's not all bad news on the hardware front. How Does It Perform?
Performs well as a sunshade and in wet weather, with customers noting it's easy to fit and provides good shade . However, its performance is hampered by the common complaint that it requires a third support pole to prevent sagging and water collection in the middle .
In practice, this canopy is a bit of a mixed bag. It excels in some areas but is let down by a significant, yet fixable, flaw.
Setup & Sun Protection
Getting it set up is a breeze. Buyers report that it's 'Easy to fit on caravan rail' and 'Easy to put up' . Once it's up, it does exactly what you want a sun canopy to do: it 'gives good shade during sunshine and also helps to keep the caravan cool' . For a simple, effective shelter from the sun, it scores highly.Performance in Wind & Rain
Despite its simple design, it can handle a bit of weather. One Spanish reviewer found it to be 'resistant even with some wind' . Another UK-based camper was very impressed when it survived 'strong gales and torrential downpour' by simply lowering the centre pole (note: they were using their own third pole). The Sagging Issue
The biggest performance issue is the sag. Without a central support, 'it tends to sag in the middle and collect water' . This is the most common complaint and the reason so many people recommend buying a third pole. With that simple addition, the performance is transformed, but out of the box, it's a notable problem in wet conditions. What Features Stand Out?
Key features include its waterproof and UV-resistant fabric, quality carry bag, and simple setup process. The most significant missing feature, mentioned by numerous customers, is a third central support pole, which is needed to prevent sagging and is not supplied as standard .
This is a straightforward piece of kit, so the feature list is short and sweet, focusing on the essentials.
What's in the Bag
You get the 2.96 x 2.45m canopy, two upright poles, guy lines, pegs, and a carry bag. The quality of the bag and pegs has been singled out for praise, even by a customer who returned the product . The canopy itself is the star, with its durable, waterproof fabric. What's Missing
The glaring omission is a third pole for the middle. This is mentioned in almost every review. Customers state it 'would have been nice to have the third pole for the middle' and that the manufacturer 'could do with supplying the third pole as standard' . This missing component is the difference between a good product and a great one, as it's essential for stability and preventing water from pooling.Sizing
At just under 3m wide, it's a decent size for smaller vans and caravans. However, for those with larger motorhomes or who want a more substantial covered area, the size might be a limitation. One 3-star reviewer found it was 'Not long enough and not wide enough' for their needs .Who Is It For?
We've analysed how this product fits different buyer profiles. Find your situation below to see if it's right for you.
Casual Weekend Campers
"This looks dead easy to chuck up for a weekend away. It's not for a week-long storm, but for keeping the sun off while we have a brew, it's just the ticket."
What They Love
- Super quick to set up
- Great for sun protection
- Doesn't take up much space
Considerations
- Might need to buy an extra pole
- Not ideal for heavy rain
Budget-Conscious Caravaners
"The price is tempting, and the fabric sounds decent. I've got a spare pole in the garage anyway, so if that's all it needs, it seems like a good deal."
What They Love
- Affordable initial price
- Material quality is high for the cost
- Good quality accessories (bag/pegs)
Considerations
- Hidden cost of an extra pole
- Supplied poles might not last
All-Weather Tourers
"I need gear I can rely on in a gale. The material sounds good, but if the poles are dodgy and it pools with water, it's a liability I can't afford."
What They Love
- Fabric stands up to downpours
- Reportedly stable in wind (with mods)
Considerations
- Unreliable poles are a dealbreaker
- Requires modification for bad weather
How Does It Compare to Alternatives?
Compared to more expensive driveaway awnings, this canopy offers excellent material quality for its price point. While it lacks the structural integrity of premium brands due to its flimsy poles , its core fabric competes well, making it a strong budget alternative for those willing to upgrade the hardware.
In the world of awnings, you can spend a little or a lot. This Dulepax canopy sits firmly in the budget-friendly category. Compared to premium, big-brand air awnings or cassette awnings, it's far simpler and more affordable. The trade-off is in the hardware. While the fabric quality is praised , the poles are a clear weak point compared to more robust systems. It's a solid choice if you want the benefit of a quality sunshade without the high cost of a full driveaway awning, provided you're prepared to solve the pole issue yourself.

Needs a third pole
The canopy is light, easy to erect and is well made. The only problem is when erected it tends to sag in the middle and collect water. This problem was solved by purchasing a further pole which gave greater rigidity and stopped it sagginbg. For me it is a no brainer to charge a little more and include a 3rd pole.
Excellent
Easy to fit on caravan rail. gives good shade during sunshine and also helps to keep the caravan cool. Only one complaint is that there are only 2 poles and to be honest you need 3, as you really do need one for the centre of the canopy. They don't even have a single pole for sale, so I had to purchase a pair from another site. Otherwise a good piece of kit.
Great quality
Fantastic quality and well worth the money. Worked so well providing shade in the last heat wave. Only critic would be that a 5th peg and line be supplied.
Soddisfatto
Sono rimasto soddisfatto dell'acquisto.
Great buy
Brilliant buy, easy to install / use. Why pay a fortune for a canopy when this one does the job for a bargain price!

Sun shade
Good quality , other reviewers are correct in saying you do need a third pole , luckily there is a eyelet in the middle so adding an extra pole is straightforward.
Resistente
Buen producto, buena calidad y resistente incluso con algo de viento. Lo recomiendo.
Great quality
Good value and quality, would have been nice to have the third pole for the middle but not critical
Easy to put up
East to put up, definitely needs the extra pole in the middle tho, luckily we had one from our awning, stood up to strong gales and torrential downpour while away, just dropped the centre pole by a foot and put a bucket there, found no sagging and no leaks
Good quality but needs to extra pole
Good quality but could do with supplying the third pole as standard as it sags in the middle
STORE
Pas assez long et pas assez large, sinon fait le job
Not fit for purpose
Returned item. The canopy was a good thick material and with better poles may have been ok. However the extendable poles kept sliding back down. The pegs and carry bag were all of good quality. 🤷♀️
