Key Specifications
How Well Is It Built?
Panel Construction and Durability
The DOKIO Foldable Portable Solar Panel consistently receives praise for its robust build quality. Many customers describe the panel unit itself as 'good quality' and 'sturdy' . We've found that the monocrystalline cells are well-integrated, giving a sense of durability that inspires confidence for outdoor use.
Portability and Weight
Being lightweight and portable is a key strength of this DOKIO panel. While the exact weight isn't specified, customers highlight its ease of movement. One 4-star reviewer noted it was 'sturdy but light enough to move' , making it convenient for repositioning to catch the sun.
The Carry Bag Conundrum
Unfortunately, the included carry bag doesn't quite live up to the panel's quality. This is a recurring complaint, with several reviewers mentioning its 'poor quality' . Stitching issues and handles breaking are common themes, leading some to worry about dropping the panel . One 2-star reviewer even called the bag 'not fit for purpose' .
How Does It Perform?
Effortless Setup and Operation
One of the most praised aspects of the DOKIO solar panel is its simplicity. Customers consistently highlight the ease of setup, often stating it 'works out of the box'. As one 5-star reviewer put it, they 'Plugged it in. Kept my caravan battery topped up without having to adjust anything' . This 'simple to set up' nature means you can get power flowing quickly, which is ideal for spontaneous trips.
Consistent Charging Power
In terms of actual performance, the DOKIO panel delivers. Users report strong charging performance, even in less-than-ideal conditions. One 5-star buyer was impressed that 'the power output even in low sunlight conditions is perfect' , managing to keep three AGM car batteries topped up while running a fridge, lights, chargers, and TV. Even on cloudy days, a 4-star reviewer observed a 'trickle charge of 8 to 15w lowest' , sufficient for charging phones.
Controller Reliability and Support
While the panel itself is excellent, some customers initially experienced issues with the charge controller. However, DOKIO's customer support has proven to be highly responsive. One 5-star reviewer reported reaching out to support nine months after purchase and receiving a new controller and leads within two days, which 'solved any issues I had' . This demonstrates good after-sales service, turning a potential weakness into a testament to their support.
What Features Stand Out?
Complete Kit, Ready to Go
The DOKIO Foldable Portable Solar Panel comes as a complete kit, designed to 'WORK OUT OF THE BOX'. This means it includes the 100 Watt monocrystalline solar panel and a waterproof charge controller, ensuring you have everything needed to start charging immediately. This all-in-one approach is highly valued by users who prefer a hassle-free solution.
Automatic and Simple Controller
The included charge controller is designed for simplicity. It's an automatic unit, meaning once plugged in, it handles the battery charging process without requiring constant adjustment. One 5-star reviewer specifically looked for 'a very simple automatic controller to use' , confirming that this feature meets the needs of many users, particularly for topping up leisure batteries or powering specific equipment like electric fences.
Lightweight and Foldable Design
Its foldable and lightweight design is a standout feature, making it exceptionally portable for campervan, motorhome, and general camping use. This allows for easy storage and transportation, a crucial aspect for anyone on the move. While the panel itself is praised for its quality and portability, the quality of the carry bag is a frequently mentioned drawback , which slightly undermines the convenience of its design.
Areas for Improvement: Instructions
One area where the DOKIO kit falls short is its instructions. Several customers have found them to be unclear and poorly translated. A 1-star reviewer described the English as 'very poor' and the instructions as 'gibberish' in places, raising concerns, particularly about the safety instructions . Improved, clearer instructions would significantly enhance the user experience, especially for those new to solar power.

While there are many options available, customers often highlight this unit's 'complete kit' approach and 'simple automatic controller' as key differentiators. We’ve seen other panels that might offer higher wattage or more advanced features, but they often come with a significantly higher price tag or more complex setup. Plugged it in. Kept my caravan battery topped up without having to adjust anything
See heading. I'm not sure what the "bad" reviews are on about. Most seem whinging about extremely minor things, like the leg a a little bit awkward to set up (they're not unless you have 6 fingers on each hand) or the controller is NOT waterproof (It's clearly stated it isn't. Maybe spend 5 seconds reading the instructions and the sales pitch on Amazon?) Anyway, I bought a 3 meter extension lead a...
Absolutely brilliant, simple to set up it works and it’s reasonably good quality
If you’re looking for a 12 to 18 V solar panel with a very simple automatic controller to use this is for you. We have quite a high-powered electric fence made by Voss and the energiser will empty a brand-new 12 V heavy duty deep discharge golf buggy battery which cost over £200 within 2 to 3 weeks. I have attached this solar panel which I didn’t realise when I ordered it was 18 V but the controll...
It's OK - solar panel unit good, charging unit not so fantastic but still capable.
**Update - I reached out to Dokio support 9 months after purchasing to request support for the controller. They shipped me a new controller and leads within 2 days, which solved any issues I had as indicated with my review is the controller below. Excellent customer support, thank you** This is not a bad solar panel to be fair, but there are better options out there for a 200W portable unit in te...
Highly recommended
This set up is perfect for me, the power output even in low sunlight conditions is perfect, I run 3 096 sized agm car batteries and it keeps them topped up no probs running fridge lights chargers tv etc etc, nice travel case my only gripe is transporting them, when collapsed the solar panel is facing outward it would of been better inward to protect them a bit better but I just put it all in the b...

Brilliant
It works and works well. Free power 😎 It charges my power stations during the day plus phones and a laptop. Started power my power tools through the power stations that are being charged by the panel. 🌞☺️
recensie DOKIO 100W
Snel toegekomen, heel duidelijke gebruiksaanwijzing. Laadt snel op, ongelooflijk hoe weinig zonlicht die nodig heeft. Het is wel nodig van de attributen erbij te nemen. Je kan geen zon laden zonder transfo uiteraard. En een accu. Enzo. Absoluut betrouwbaar, super tevreden over.
Great for leisure battery
Bought to charge leisure battery when off grid, ive only used it once so far as a trial on a sunny day but it worked well and my battery was fully charged by the end of the day. Fits nicely in the windscreen which is good because the controller is not waterproof.
Easy to install, now prefer portable.
I used to have one of the flexible flat ones on the roof, but given that I only use the van every month or so for camping it was a waste of the lifespan of the previous panel being permanently on the roof. So the last one only lasted a year, got hot spots even with an air gap and cracked and eventually just stopped working. This goes into the bag when not in use and slides behind the bed nicely. I...
Panel solar
Zestaw ok polecam
Does it provide the rated 100w
The Dokio 100w panel 1130am on a sunny March day in Somerset, feeding 102W into my Anker solex battery! Says it all I think.
Very impressed
Used this for two trips so far away in my caravan. On the last last trip it has generated 83ah in 20 hours. Kept the van battery fully charged along with phones tablets and power banks. I've extended the wiring on mine to fot the solar controller inside. The panel is water proof however the solar charger is not. All you need to extended it to inside is some xt60 extension cables. Would highly reco...
